Wake the Hell Up!!
I’ve been watching the news again.
And I’ve been listening to the mayor of New Orleans rant about the lack of response to their crisis.
And guess what? HE’S RIGHT.
If this is how the government handles a domestic crises of this magnitude, the country’s gone to hell in a handbasket already.
And if I hear one more fat-ass politician who’s never missed a fucking meal drone on about how they ‘understand the people’s frustration’, I am going to PUKE.
WAKE THE HELL UP, BUTTHOLES!! Raising money to help is wonderful, but those people need help NOW. Get more busses in there, more troops, food, water, generators, medicine!
We don’t need the damned former Presidents begging for funds.
And do NOT tell me we don’t have the resources. If you’ve got enough money to wage war in a foreign country, you’d damn well better have it to save the lives of your own PEOPLE.
And I’m sorry if this rubs anybody the wrong way. This is not a political statement. This is about being a HUMAN BEING.
I listened to an interview with a young nurse at a hospital there. She was crying. People, she said, were dying all around her because they had no supplies, no power. Babies & people on ventilators were living their last hours because their one generator was on its last legs. Even the nurses were getting sick now.
There is no excuse for more help not having arrived WAY before this.
Hello, people with ‘authority’??? WAKE THE HELL UP!!!

And the fucking FEMA Director said he had no idea what was going on at the convetion center? WTF is he smoking? Asswipe, turn on your TV.
And why the hell did it take our fearless *snicker* leader so damned long to get back to washington?
The situation is intollerable and I have lost all faith in the system and especially the president (not that I had a lot of faith in him to begin with but….).
Where’s the food, the water, the resources…why aren’t we getting any help from overseas? oh yeah because our fearless leader is worried about terrorist attacks? STFU :hushyourmouth:
WHY are people shooting at helicopters? WHY are the sick in hosptials unable to get out? I can’t IMMAGINE The frustration of the people stuck down there. For GOD’S SAKES Do SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!
I need a drink……….

Turn off the TV. It’s so depressing.
I’m appalled that it took soooo long to get federal help in there. They should have been in there the second day.
I LOVE the mayor of New Orleans. He has been in a difficult situation and he candy coats nothing. And he’s darn right.

I’ve been getting info on Katrina/N.O by word of mouth. Until today. I read the paper today. I wished I hadn’t. It’s heart-breaking and appalling what’s happening (and not happening).

It’s waaayyyy too late–and thoroughly disgusting, and I am ASHAMED of the lackadaisical attitude of the government toward their people–the government WE elect.
How the hell DARE they treat us–ANY of us–as if we don’t count??!
This is NOT a reflection on people who have been trying, organizing, doing what they can to help, but on those who really don’t seem to care.
But there is no excuse for the delay in helping these people.
NONE.
