I’ve always loved short stories. From fairy tales to Poe, Maugham, Bradbury–loved them all. It takes as much talent to craft a good short as it does to write a decent novel. Some people would say more. The story must be whittled down to its essence, like cutting a fine diamond. And it’s not at all as easy as it looks.
And I admit I don’t quite understand their current unpopularity with editors and publishers and audiences. They’re perfect reads, I think, for a quicky before bed, or when you’re short on time–or attention span.
The LOOSE ID KATRINA RELIEF BLOG has been posting short stories by its authors, asking readers to donate to their favorite charities.
One of my stories has joined the ranks.
If you enjoy the story, VICTORIA, please consider donating what you can.
If you don’t enjoy the story, please consider donating what you can.
My preferred charity is the Humane Society Disaster Rescue, but anything you can give would be welcome.
Lots of help is still needed. Thank you.

Awww…thank you, Jaq.
(and yeah, I’m still moving in…)
It was a kick ass story!
You’re all nice people.
Hush up. We all know I’m not nice ;)
I don’t understand their unpopularity either. And loved your story! Hot hot hot.
