Rescue Me

(cough, cough…) ahem…

I’ve just been reminded by awesome Loose Id author Mechele Armstrong that I’m doing a chat on Saturday.
Oops.

It’ll be at the EbookLove site, and I’ll post more about it tomorrow. A small group of us will be there, giving away free books, so hope ya’ll can drop in!

I was just listening to the news story of Honey, the little Cocker Spaniel from Marin County who saved his master, trapped in his SUV after an accident.
Honey went to the nearest house, raised a ruckus, and brought the neighbor straight back to the crash site.
The best part? The gentleman had just rescued Honey from the pound 2 weeks earlier.
DOGS ARE LOYAL, LOVING, FAR MORE INTELLIGENT THAN MOST PEOPLE THINK, & WORTH THEIR WEIGHT IN GOLD.
If you’ve ever considered adopting a dog, or any animal, please do. All they want is someone to love.

Cats, of course, are…different. And I love my cats. Really I do. Really.
But I couldn’t help imagining what would happen if I was in such an accident and sent one of my kitties for help…

“RUN! GOTTA HURRY! RUN! RUN!! RAINE’S BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT! MUST GET HELP! LOVE MY LITTLE HUMAN. MUST GET…OH, WHOA! WHAT’S THAT?? THERE’S SOMETHING MOVING IN THE BUSHES! IS IT?…YES! IT’S A BIRD! OH, HELL, IT’LL JUST TAKE A SEC FOR A QUICK CHASE, AND…DAMN, MISSED IT! ANY MORE? NO? HMMM–WHERE WAS I?
OH, YEAH–GOTTA RUN! GET HELP! THE HUMAN NEEDS HELP. ON MY WAY NOW, AND–WAIT! SQUIRREL CLIMBING TREE AT FIVE O’ CLOCK! HE’S ON THE MOVE, WAVING THAT FURRY TALE! GET HIM, GET HIM!! SHIT! MISSED! BUT THERE’S A BUTTERFLY! JUMP! C’MON, HIGHER, JUMP AGAIN! YOU CAN DO IT!
OH, WAIT–WHERE WAS I? OH, YEAH–RAINE WHATS-HER-NAME. DAMN NON-DRIVING HUMAN. YEAH, OKAY, WHATEVER, I’M GETTIN’ THERE, AND–OH, HELL! HOLD UP, HOLD UP…IS THAT A FISH MARKET I SMELL????!!…
