Raine's Secret Garden

V IS FOR…

…A VERY nice review for LET’S PRETEND from Anita at Fallen Angels Reviews.

…the humor is hilariously dry. You cannot help but smile and chuckle at the antics Ronnie and Brant come up with to capture Paul’s attention…Brant is the king of sexuality. His playfulness inspires Ronnie to break out of her protective shell. Watching Ronnie blossom into a self-assured, assertive woman was a pleasure to read about…Raine Weaver has written a unique story with a style that is different from most romance writers. This is a very sexy, classy love story destined to get a few ooohs and aaahs out of the reader. :woot:

I also got a chance to see the film “V IS FOR VENDETTA”.

If the Wachowski Brothers blew the doors off your barn with “THE MATRIX”, you just might enjoy their latest offering. I’m afraid I may be a revolutionary at heart, and therefore biased, but I DID enjoy the film–more than I thought when I left the theater, since it’s stayed with me ever since then. Great Britain in an alternate-universe sort of plot is a facist society, which uses the idea of ‘protecting’ their citizens from ‘undesirable’ influences and imaginary threats to rule them.

Oddly enough, if you’re open-minded enough, you relate to the film right away.

V is a hero in the traditional heroic sense of the word, and remains a mystery throughout the film. Natalie Portman is a far better actress than I knew.

There was one section of the film that I felt was all wrong. It didn’t seem to belong, was badly handled, I thought. But I can’t discuss it without giving spoilers, and I don’t want to do that.

All in all, very interesting. It even made me clap. :yesyesyes:

It also included one of my favorite quotes:

“People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.”

Vive la Revolution! :hushyourmouth:
