If ya haven’t been there, you should definitely go.
Paperback Writer is holding a first line contest.
There will be three prizes awarded of books to be ordered online, valued at $30.00 or less.
But this isn’t the best reason to visit the site.
The BEST reason is because there are some truly AWESOME first lines being posted on that page!!
Check it out!
And on a related note…
PBW is also encouraging authors with weblogs or websites to write and publish their own free-to-the-public e-books for viewing or downloading on October 31rst.
She will choose 20 of the e-books at random and offer free critiques.
But honestly, I’d been wanting to do this for some time. I like the idea of posting free reads. Just a very small way of saying “thank you” for anybody interested in my work. :yesyesyes:
I’m trying to give this one a shot, lol. I’ll definitely be posting a short story from a former fund-raiser for Katrina, and another I’d written exclusively for my newsletter.
But I’m trying to finish a novella to post by then too. This will be iffy—only a month to go, and I’ve only got about 50 pages so far.
But maybe it will force encourage me to get my buns in gear with the writing anyway.
Just remember—no fair laughing at my covers (yes, we’re supposed to make our own!). :poof: :poof: :poof: :poof:
