Most of you will have no idea who this gentleman is.
(with the possible exception of Bailey, lol!).
In his time, he was known as having “steel tonsils”, and considered “the first of the blue-eyed soul singers”.
Mr. Frankie Laine passed away last night.
And as I said—you probably don’t recognize him, but chances are you do KNOW him.
If you’re of an age…think “Mule Train”. “Do Not Forsake Me” (the theme song from “High Noon”). Probably the most popular (and my favorite)—the theme song from “Rawhide”.
And if you’re not of an age, you should still be able to manage the theme song from “Blazing Saddles”. :yesyesyes:
And yeah, I’m sentimental. I loved the old cowboy shows.
And yet another once-in-a-lifetime voice stilled. From “Rawhide”:
All the things I’m missin’,
Good vittles, love, and kissin’,
Are waiting at the end of my ride…
Head ‘em up, Frankie.
