DUPLICITY?

plagiari.jpg

I had a post pretty well written and ready to go, but I’ve decided to link to this instead.
Just when you think you’ve heard it all…

Whether you’re a wannabee, a newbie author, paying for publication, desperately seeking representation, a wiccan looking for a reason—whateverYOU MIGHT WANT TO READ THIS POST.
What’s the truth behind it? It’s possible that only the people involved know. I couldn’t believe my eyes, and said there was ‘no excuse’ for such a thing. Turns out there may not be an excuse…but there may be a reason. (Not a GREAT reason, but a reason).

Lessons to be learned there, perhaps chief among them being
LEARN AS MUCH AS YOU CAN ABOUT THE BUSINESS.

The post is at DEAR AUTHOR. Warning—there are a ton of comments to a story that gets stranger and stranger as it develops.
So when you finish there, be sure to join me at the CHICAS site for a laugh.
I needed one!

Holy Mary on a salami sandwich!
Makes me wonder if she’s that Hill guy in disguise.

  2. BernardL says:

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, the lady really authored a compliment there. :(

    LOL, Bernita!
I keep telling myself that nothing would surprise me anymore—yet it does…

And I see La Nora, who has some experience with plagiarists. has joined the discussion…

    Well, SOMEBODY did! Ack!

I stumbled upon this story on the Writer Beware site. Gosh, is it sordid. My head started hurting after a while.

  6. Raine says:

    Agreed, ladies.
I felt the peculiar urge to have a flea dip by the time I’d finished reading… :nonono:

  7. Melissa Blue says:

I’ve decided to get on the boil watch team. Seems like a worth while purpose in life.

  8. Raine says:

LOL—they didn’t even get the curse straight, Mel (loved the way the Wiccans chimed in!).
If you must curse someone, can’t we get it right?

  9. Ann says:

Oh my. I read the whole bloody thing last night, and was rendered speechless. This whole thing is just too bizarre! And Janet Dailey plagiarized Nora Robert’s works? This is just to weird for words. Have a quiet peaceful Sunday. :waving:

  10. Raine says:

Yes, Ann, Ms. Dailey reportedly plagiarized SEVERAL of Ms. Roberts’ works to some extent or another.
Of course, it was a temporary ‘illness’ brought on by emotional stress, and she’s all cured of that now.

And here I worry about repeating a WORD too often in a chapter, lol.

You have a good one too, hon! :waving:
