Pattern recognition is an amazing thing. I hope the rover did take more photos. I doubt very much that it’s a shadow. A rock maybe, but definitely not a shadow.

I hope they had the rover hang around filming until they saw the arm move.

Or at least turned it around to go back, take another photo to see if the thing was in the same position, so they could declare it a rock (which they’d do anyway).

What they donâ€™t tell you is what size it is. It could be the size of a guinea pig.
