Yes, my new book from Samhain releases at the end of this week.
It almost seems like forever since I had a book come out. Probably because it has been.
But it’ll be a special treat to see this one become available—mostly because, by all rights, it probably should’ve never seen publication.
Why?
1) The first line of the book is, “It was a dark and stormy night.”
Why? Because I love that line, and wanted to use it. And because it fit the tone of the story, and subtly prepares the reader for what’s to come.
2) The book had been rejected not one, not two, but three times by major publishers. And each editor had given me a different reason.
3) This was my “I don’t give a damn” story. I didn’t worry about GMAC, internal dialogue, plot arc, BM, etc., etc. I set up the playhouse, and my characters and I had fun together. Period.
4) The hero isn’t alpha, the heroine doesn’t know what she wants out of life, and the single setting is extremely isolated.
5) I’d actually offered it as a freebie on this website, and completely dismissed the idea of selling it. Ya just never know.

For those of you (us) still suffering winter-itis…hang in there!
I have blackbirds. I have robins. A chipmunk or two, and a few rumpled, disgruntled groundhogs.
It’s still cold here, but at least it’s not snowing.
Of course, now it’s raining so hard we have flooding.
Meanwhile, I’m getting high at the CHICAS site today. :smokin:

The lovely, talented, multi-award winning author ROXANNE ST. CLAIRE is guest-blogging at the CHICAS site today.

From an interview on “Good Morning, America”…
VICE PRESIDENT CHENEY: On the security front, I think there’s a general consensus that we’ve made major progress, that the surge has worked. That’s been a major success.
REPORTER RADDATZ: Two-third of Americans say it’s not worth fighting.
CHENEY: So?
RADDATZ: So? You don’t care what the American people think?
CHENEY: No. I think you cannot be blown off course by the fluctuations in the public opinion polls.

Good morning America, indeed.
I’m blogging at the CHICAS site today. :waving:

I am not going to say a word.
Not a word.
Instead, I’m going to send you to Jordan’s blog. Once there, please follow the yellow brick—er, the link to another rather informative blog post.
If true—circle the wagons, folks.
