Raine's Secret Garden

JEEPERS! PEEPERS!!

I HAVE PEEPERS!
I HAVE PEEPERS!!

Although I’ve talked about them before, in case you didn’t know, peepers are little tree frogs that come out in the spring. And although I don’t believe it’s spring here yet (winter can be very devious), we had a warm day followed by a warm evening—and I guess the froggies are as anxious as we are for the season! :yesyesyes:

They sing at night, a delicate, peeping song like tiny silver chimes drifting through the dark. It’s almost ethereal, since the origin can’t be pinpointed because there can be hundreds of them at one time, but hauntingly beautiful.

Do I sound like a geek, going on like this? Ah, well…
Then I won’t describe how I was just out in the back yard doing a midnight version of “The Sound of Music”, twirling and whispering, “Sing! Sing!”
