Raine's Secret Garden

MONDAY, MONDAY

I keep hearing it’s supposed to be spring. But I haven’t SMELLED it yet, so it can’t be official—and we actually had snow flurries today!
On the home front? I’m about to wrap up a rewrite on a novella I’m hoping to submit.
After that?
Must finish Mr. Pinky, just because I love it, whether it ever sells or not. And giving serious thought to tackling one of the two ms ideas rotting sitting on my hard drive that fascinate me. They’re not my usual type, and the idea of writing them is a little overwhelming.
But wth—I may give it a shot.

I do want to make a point of thanking a few people for their support of the new release:
Jorrie
Bernita
Suzanne
Bernard
Thanks, folks. Friends is good.

As a special note, Bernita is running a contest through April 30th. All you need to do is post a line from a novel/short story by a contemporary writer which made you say: “Oh crap, I wish I had written that.”
Prizes listed on site. Go pimp your favs!

I’m with you about the need to smell Spring. It’s my final proof.
For once, we had rain instead of snow.

I hope you go with what you love to write. If nothing else,it sure makes the editing easier. :)

Oh yeah, it was 80 out here on Saturday, and 78 on Sunday without a cloud in the sky. :) heh, heh, heh

It was chilly here! I had to turn the heat on in the mornings!

I wish more people would take an interest in novellas. (An agent recently told me anything under 65K words was a novella, but I think he’s full of horse hockey.) It really is a great form. Glad some folks are still working those waters.

  12. Raine says:

    Billy, I love writing short.
(I was told it was 25K-45K).
It IS a great form–but not always in demand. And they don’t tend to pay well, unless part of an anthology.
