Digging Disney

When farmer Rick Brown of Maryland was digging up potatoes recently, he discovered something that may set the Disneyfied world on its…ear?

Yes, it would seem that the petrified remains of an ancestor of our own beloved Mickey Mouse have been uncovered in a crude archeological dig in Maryland, USA.

A panel of scientists, scoffing all the way, are seeking access to the treasure, hoping to utilize DNA analysis to verify its origins.

Those in the know, however, are certain that it proves what cynics have suspected all along:
That ol’ Steamboat Willie, angry about the treatment he received from his captain, Peg-Leg Pete, did indeed dishonorably desert ship at first sight of Minnie “Hoochie-Momma” Mouse on the shore.
And all of Mickey’s so-called mirth has been a sad attempt to hide the shame of his ancestor, who may now be known as SpudMick.

And as if that’s not enough—I’m blogging at the CHICAS site today.
