I remember seeing The Ghost and Mrs Muir as a TV series and it was great. Such a romantic, doomed love story.

Suzanne, I remember the series. It was NOTHING, repeat, NOTHING compared to the film, which featured a true romance of the soul. WONDERFUL movie, really.

Definitely not all Jane Eyre movies are equal and it is often the earlier versions of movies which are the strongest. Why is that?

The Jane Eyre versions would just be my opinion, Suzanne, some might disagree.
They didn't worry so much about special effects, shock value, or catering to an age-limited crowd. And I think it's possible that often moviemakers think to "better" an original work.
They fail to realize that the original must've had something, a heart, or soul, or appeal of its own, that made it popular in the first place. The writer knew what they were doing.
But there are exceptions too. Some screenplays have been a vast improvement over the stories they were originally based on ("The Illusionist" comes to mind...I read the short story...it was a nice piece of fiction, but the film was unbelievably better...)

Funny, I see you at chicas all the time I forget you have your own blog.

A girl needs her own place, y'know? :D

And Lord of the Rings would have been better if Aragon(sp?) had just taken off his freaking shirt.

Mel, I had the same complaint about "The Mummy".
How the hell do you have Brendan Fraser, with that huge wall of a chest and those big, steely arms, in a movie and NOT have him take off his shirt?!!!

I've read 6 of those 10 books and mostly agree but thought Bet Me was a little thin. I like her later works though.

Funny, I see you at chicas all the time I forget you have your own blog.

Anyway, I hate "favorite" memes. I usually have more than what the meme asks for or I'm sadly under.

And Lord of the Rings would have been better if Aragon(sp?) had just taken off his freaking shirt.

Just sayin'

Bernard, sounds like you're just jealous because you don't have pointy ears and big, hairy feet. :-)
