Have you ever seen those feature stories on the news that show brides-to-be storming a store when they have a once-a-year mega-sale on bridal gowns? :)
KARIN TABKE’S infamous “First Line Contest” was held on Monday.
When the call went up at 7:00 p.m. Pacific time, the first 100 entrants would be entered into the contest.
The 100-person limit was reached within NINE MINUTES.
Mother of God. :o
And no, I’m not making fun of anyone. I was in on the stampede, just for the helluvit.
But can you imagine if it featured a guaranteed contract??! :D
(and yes, I have smilies again, so you may see too much of them for a little while…thanks, o mighty webmistress).
And romance author A.E. ROUGHT is guest-blogging at the CHICAS site today.
Please join us. :)

So… what was your line?
You mean you don’t want to search through all 100 lines and guess, Bernard? :D
It was something like,
“Darkness did not fall gently this day”.
I started to go through them. I like yours, and as you say, no disrespect meant to the other participants. :)
I like your line.
;)
And Yay on the Smilies.
Nine minutes! I am so glad I didn’t try to enter. I would have timed it completely wrong (from New Zealand) for sure. But congrats on your success. I actually love that line. It hints of all sorts of possibilities with just a few words. I would definitely want to know what the next line was.
And Yay on the Smilies.
I know, Ann, I missed them! (silly as it sounds, lol).
I would definitely want to know what the next line was.
I wonder what it’ll be too, Suzanne. ;)
