It’s that time again. Jason Evans is sponsoring one of his great fiction contests again.
A photograph has been posted on his website, “The Clarity of Night”.
The challenge?
Compose a piece of short fiction or poetry, less than 250 words in its entirety, related to that picture.
There’s a nice prize, feedback from readers, and a community of writers to meet and greet there—not to mention great reads and discovering that it’s bloody difficult to construct such a story!
Contest runs until July 15th.
Today, I’m running over to the CHICAS site. :)

I’ve been waiting for that picture to inspire 250 words in me for the last few days. I got nothin’.
Doesn’t it make you thirsty? :D
Hope you come up with something!
It’s a beautiful photo, Bernard. And I did have an idea for a story, but things are kinda crazy here, so I doubt I’ll have time to work it out. :(
First time I saw it and I am stumped. I write poetry but it’s private. I don’t really share it. LOL. :-)
This photo seems to be stumping a LOT of people, Tyhitia. ;)
