I can hardly believe there are just a few more days until Christmas.
Even if you’re pretty well organized, something usually pops up at the last minute. And if you’re one of those last-minute running around like crazy people, all my sympathy. Hang on, it’s almost over! :biggrin:

The other good news is that the Winter Solstice is Monday.
Yes, this is good news.
It means that very, very slowly the days will begin to get longer again. And every little bit helps.
I’ve got my own built-in tan, but the lack of light is depressing. I miss the sun! :cool:

Limbo

limbo
I don’t know if it’s just me or not.
But once in a while I reach a point where I’m just tired of being in limbo.

No, I’m not a big-name author, and no, I don’t have an agent to do follow-ups, etc.
But there are times when I’d almost rather do a rapid burn in rejection hell than remain suspended in the twilight zone between there and nowhere.

Sometime before the down-time that is the holiday season I’m going to politely query status on a manuscript…again.
I’d very much like for the answer to be yes. Really I would But most of all, I’d like an answer.

And she left me behind. :cry:

Actually, I’m not even going to pimp the cover, great as it is.
But the ladies at Embrace the Shadows are holding a year-end Ultimate Cover Clash, with winners from their cover contest for the entire year.

I’ve been in a peculiar mood with the writing lately. On again, off again. Daydreaming. Writing in spurts. And I know it’s not the wip. I love the story, the characters. I’ve got about 320 pages done, so there’s no way I’m abandoning this baby.
Still…

And I’m trying to be professional and objective about it all. I know you can’t just write when the mood or inspiration hits if you really want the gig. But I also know that if I write when I’m not feeling it, the work reflects that, and I get discouraged because I’m putting out suckage. I don’t feel guilty when I don’t write, but do feel like I’m…missing something. :confused:
