Jason Evans is once again sponsoring his Clarity of Night Fiction Contest.
With $165 in prizes up for grabs, all entries must use the featured photograph as the basis for a short fiction piece of no more than 250 words in any genre or style.
The deadline is Wednesday, January 13th at 11:00 p.m. EST. Click on the link for more details.
The prizes are nice, but the supportive community and feedback you get on your entry are invaluable.
Even if you’re not interested in posting, I hope you’ll stop by to read some of the excellent work.

Just realized there are no entries that would qualify as erotic and very few as romantic. Of course, the prompt picture doesn’t exactly encourage thoughts on those themes.
Still, hope someone tries to spice things up, just for variety’s sake.
That might be interesting, Bernita!
I read some of the first entries and they were amazing – such wonderful talent. Bernita’s, of course, was especially good. Hi, Bernita.
It looks like a wonderful contest, but I never have time to enter it whenever it comes up.
Oh well, maybe next time.
I have a contest too, Raine.
