We’re in the middle of a drought and being hit by the dog days of summer. Triple-digit heat index today.
Might I add, I hate extreme heat as much as I hated the frigid cold and snow? We seem to have so few days in-between.
Despite the cartoon-style relay system I’ve resorted to (single room air conditioner to fan to fan to fan…), it’s uncomfortable.
Part of the writing gig is to occasionally have to write what we’re not seeing/feeling at that precise moment. If you’re on a deadline, or pushing yourself to finish something for submission, you don’t have the luxury of waiting for “the mood”. You may need to write a love scene when you’re feeling sad, or an action scene at five in the a.m. when you’re dead on your feet.
Right now, it’s a little challenging to write about my male heroes in frock coats and sherpa jackets. I want to sweat for them, lol.
Guess I’ll just have to get them out of those clothes as soon as possible, huh?

I like your solution!
Sometimes writing about cold weather scenes can cool you off on a hot day, but I’m not sure it can handle triple digit heat. Break out the popsicles.

It’s a tough job, Fairy, but somebody’s gotta do it.

Ditto.
Much of the east coast seems to be getting hit. Ugh.
