On a recent visit to the doctor, I received a bit of good news.
I’ve lost 22 pounds in the last five months.
I knew I’d lost a little (and honestly need to lose lots more, lol), but was surprised it was that much.
The bad news is that I wasn’t really trying to lose weight.
It was basically the result of stress, a bout of flu, stress, a touch of depression, and stress. This is not good.
I know it’s easy to say…but for anyone out there who might be feeling the pressure of jobs, finances, personal issues, or the coming holidays—try not to stress out.
It will affect your health in one way or another.
The neurotic will not inherit the earth.
Stressing won’t make your problems go away.
And a calmer mental attitude makes it easier to deal with whatever might come along.
Now…
I just need to practice what I’m preachin’…

I can’t believe how fast the last two days went!
But I’d made up my mind that I was going to finish a certain project this weekend. And although I nearly pulled an all-nighter, didn’t get all of the dishes washed, and didn’t get the checkbook balanced so I could work on the wicked stack of bills—for all intents and purposes, I did get my project done.
More or less. 
It’s a short novella I’ve been picking to pieces for what seems like forever. Liked the storyline, but I just wasn’t quite satisfied with the way the denouement played out, and no matter what I did I couldn’t seem to make it better. I think I finally reminded myself I’ve rarely been completely satisfied with most of the things I’ve written.
So I’ll give this one last read, and probably send it out sometime this week with fingers crossed.
Finishing a novella may not make me Superwoman. But I’m very glad it’s done.
And it gave me an excuse to use this image, which I really love, lol. Maybe, with a few more small victories, I could get into actually feeling the part.

Have been seriously under the weather this week. Some bug made the rounds of the office. I was third on its hit list, and two more have fallen since then. I refuse to name it “flu”, but it included a nasty few days of fever—so everyone, please keep your resistance up!

I received a belated Halloween gift from the wonderful ladies at Joyfully Reviewed this week.
They were kind enough to review and choose my book, “The Last Man On Earth”, as one of their Recommended Reads. Yay!
