I sort of envy those writers who can work on 4-5-6 mss at a time, or churn out that many, or more, in a year.
I don’t think it’s that I don’t have the ideas. I’m just not that prolific. And I freely admit that I need to work on the “just do it” philosophy. There’s big trouble here producing when other things don’t seem to be going well.
But even when I’m not serving up the finished goods, I’m busy trying to perfect the recipes.
And although I don’t crank ‘em out very fast or very often, there’s always something simmering on the back burner.
Did I manage to finish the wip I referred to in the last post in the designated time?
Well…uh…sort of. ![]()
I did finish revising the story. However, I didn’t finish the partial chapter I was aiming to add. And I think it’s pretty necessary for the flow and characterization.
So I’m hoping to knock that out this week. I have an idea about where I might send it, but we’ll see. Most of all, I think I’ll just be glad that its done (hopefully).
Next? I have a partial of about 150 pages I’m thinking of finishing. I also have an idea for a Victorian thriller/romance that gives me goosebumps—but I’m not sure about it. Think I might be too lazy busy to do the necessary research for a historical. But again, we’ll see.

Rumor is that it’s spring here.
That wasn’t actually a complaint, lol. We get a day in the 50s once in a while–between an inch or so of snow–but no, I’m not complaining. I think the lack of light bothers me more than the cold and, since I live in one of the cloudiest cities in the country during winter, it’s a double whammy. The longer days, at least, are cheering. I’ll take that for now.
The wip/revision is moseying along. I’ll need to wrap it up soon, else it’ll become tiresome. There’s a block of important info sharing between the protagonists I need to break up, which I think will require a little unplanned action from a secondary character. But if I can keep it brief, I’m hoping to wrap this up within the coming week or so.
Really need to move on. I’m starting to feel like quite the slacker here!
