LITTLE GREEN MEN AFTER ALL?

martian.JPG

I found this photo and article on The Times Online, and couldn’t resist it—and no, I’m not making it up!

“NASA scientists have been puzzled by the peculiarly life-like image which has been beamed back to earth by one of their two robot rovers that are currently trundling about the surface of the red planet, on the hunt for clues of life on Mars.”

Is this cool, or what?

Meanwhile, I’m slinging smut at the CHICAS site today. :yesyesyes:

    Amusing.
Though there’s not the atmosphere or other necessary conditions to support human life ( as far as I know) people persist in seeing life forms that appear human.

What they don’t tell you is what size it is. It could be the size of a guinea pig. :waving:

  3. BernardL says:

I hope they had the rover hang around filming until they saw the arm move. :)

  4. Amie says:

I saw that on the news! !it’s SO COOL!!!!!!

They said it might be a shadow :lmao:

  5. Raine says:

And it DOES appear to have a humanoid form, Bernita, lol.

Hard to tell with a panoramic lens, Ann. Yup.

    Lol.
Or at least turned it around to go back, take another photo to see if the thing was in the same position, so they could declare it a rock (which they’d do anyway).

    Shadow of WHAT??!!
    Oh, pleez!
I love these little oddities…so cool!

  9. Pattern recognition is an amazing thing. I hope the rover did take more photos. I doubt very much that it’s a shadow. A rock maybe, but definitely not a shadow.

  10. Raine says:

I could buy a rock too, Jordan.
    But what an interesting shape!

I’ll admit to clicking onto the pic for a better view. :-P I’m going to have to go with rock too. But majorly cool story/photo.

Totally cool. Raine. I imagined it to be a mythical creature who has awakened on the wrong planet and is trying to hitchhike home.

    {{{HUGS!!!}}} JJ/Nancy

Must confess, I thought it would be funny if this thing was the Martian version of a robot rover, lol.

    Great idea, JJ, lol.
